  • Bummis Fleece liners ensure easy clean-ups as well! Solids will slide off easily and our liners will protect your baby’s diaper from being damaged by creams and ointments. Layer on top of any cloth diaper and add a flushable liner if desired.

Now, as for the synthetic vs. natural fibers. I used all synthetic on Ezra (FB and BG) and had almost zero issues. BUT I’ve since switched my stash over to all cotton because I got tired of the microfiber stink and the repelling fleece/suedecloth and I was more and more as they aged. I wanted fitted diapers because I was annoyed by ongoing fit problems in the one-size styles, similar to the ones you described (red marks from elastic vs. leaks and blowouts), but using fitteds in anything other than basic cotton was completely cost-prohibitive. I don’t use organic cotton, but instead go with unbleached cotton prefolds and Workhorse fitteds from Green Mountain Diapers. These are the best diapering value I have honestly come across, because they are WONDERFUL diapers. For nighttime, I add cotton Workhorse doublers (two of them equal one of the big microfiber inserts), and I’ve also bought a variety of cotton velour and hemp inserts/doublers on Amazon that add a ton of absorbency without much bulk. For moisture wicking at night, I use Bummis fleece liners.

  • - Fleece Liners - I was given the Fleece Liners to do a review on. Let me just say that they have been a lifesaver for me numerous times. My daughter has started trying new foods and has had a reaction to a few of them. I love these liners because I am able to use diaper cream with my cloth diapers and not mess the diapers up. I just put diaper cream on her bottom and some on the fleece liner, stick it in the diaper and don't think about it again until her next change. They are SO soft and I wash them with her regular laundry (I don't want the cream residue to get on my diapers) and air dry them. I was worried they might shrink up or lose their shape after washing, but I was surprised to find they didn't. I recommend everyone try the Bummis Fleece Liners!

Thin, cut-edge stay dry polyester microfleece made from Repreve recycled polyester. Just like all polyester fleeces are, these are dyed, too. Like other stay-dry liners and doublers, the pee goes through them and then the surface stays more dry-feeling than the cotton layer underneath. These are more "micro" feeling than the Malden Mills fleece liners above, but they absolutely work for those who don't mind polyester and want something inexpensive to do the job. These are very thin. They add almost no bulk to the diaper but the tradeoff is that they are so thin that they are a little harder to handle in your hands than the more substantial ones. These are intended to provide a stay-dry layer next to baby's bottom over a cotton diaper, or other absorbent diaper such as hemp/cotton or bamboo rayon blend diapers, but are not for use in pocket diapers. They do not provide absorbency but just provide a layer to help provide a stay-dry feel of a polyester fleece layer. They provide a layer of polyester fleece for the pee to go through but then act as a stay-dry layer keeping the wetness in the cotton underneath the fleece. Very economically priced but definitely effective. 100% polyester fleece. Made in Canada.
