Happy Monday all! Hope your weekends were splendid. We had our first fire in the fireplace of the season and while it was cozy to curl up with and Molly Thomas by my side, I’m not sure how I feel about the chill in the air! Anyway, have been meaning to tell you for ages about an eyeliner trick that makeup artist and educator shared with me and I’ve officially adopted (and recently shared on ). If, like me, you normally wear dark brown or black liner on your upper lash line but feel like a raccoon—or look super tired—when you apply it to the bottom, try a lighter brown liner on the lower lash line instead! It still gives the definition of a darker shader but really opens up your eyes without casting a shadow. Don’t worry about the liners not matching—they’ll complement each other if you keep it in the same color family. I love ($9), a soft bronze that really stays put. What else have I been missing out on in the eyeliner department?
These micro shimmers are so fine that they are not visible on the eyelids, but just add a nice sheen to the eyeliner. This light brown eyeliner gives a nice look. The texture of the eyeliner is soft and smooth but not too creamy. It glides smoothly on the eyelids. There is no tugging of the lids. The eyeliner has decent pigmentation. Two swipes are required to give a perfect finish. The eyeliner is completely waterproof and it does not get removed even if you wash your face with water.
Now of course, it all depends on what color red hair you have, if it is natural or not and what type of skin tone you have, but for me, light brown eyeliner was always the best choice when I was a redhead because it's lighter, not too heavy and didn't take away from my red hair.
